Do I need a flashlight on my pistol?

Do I need a light on my EDC?

In general, I don’t think a light on your EDC is an absolute must. If your firearm doesn’t have a tac rail and you want toa light, there are some lights that attach to trigger guards. But doing this may make it hard to find a hard-sided holster.

Should you carry with a light?

The Pros of Carrying a Weapon Light

You can maximize control of your firearm by using both hands. A rail-mounted light allows you to place both hands on your weapon and control the firearm and light. This makes the weapon easier to control, as well as provide more accurate fire.

How many lumens should a pistol light be?

Self-defense flashlights should have a minimum of 60 lumens, but twice that is a better place to start. This is enough brightness to search a building or temporarily blind an attacker. If 120 lumens are good, 240 should be better, and 480 should be great…and so on up the line, right? Yes and no.
